Today, I guided a wonderful couple, Alec and Sydney, who are visiting Hida Takayama from Chicago, on a tenkara fishing trip. Alec is a high school basketball coach, and his reliable, athletic demeanor left a strong impression. Sydney is almost too fresh and cute to be called a "wife." However, contrary to her adorable appearance, she is very active, and I was amazed at how seriously she concentrated on catching fish. Although the catch was a bit modest, they seemed to have enjoyed a wonderful time, taking in the beautiful nature in the clear early spring air.

Also, as a special event, we were twice lucky enough to encounter the Japanese serow, a protected natural monument, and seeing its lovely figure up close was a precious experience. I would be delighted if they were able to take home many wonderful memories. I sincerely look forward to meeting them again on another occasion.
