Today's guests are a wonderful couple, Philip and Stacey, who love fishing and Japanese sake. Due to the strong winds caused by the typhoon from the morning, we decided to go fishing at the Okawa River in the afternoon. In the morning, we aimed for char in a mountain stream, and, as expected, Philip quickly landed a fish. During lunch, the two enjoyed the beer and sake they had brought along, and the sight of them relishing fishing while getting a little tipsy left a strong impression.

On the other hand, I felt a bit hesitant about drinking alcohol while fishing, but Philip's fishing skills shone even more, skillfully handling the Skagit line and delivering the fly perfectly to the targeted spots. Unfortunately, we didn’t catch any big ones, but the couple was deeply moved by the fishing experience in Japan’s rivers, and I couldn't be happier. I myself was impressed by Philip's outstanding casting technique and felt motivated to further master fishing.
