"Don't go to the river alone."
That is what his family tells him.
I received a request to guide Mr. Kudo,
a seasoned 65-year-old angler.
We avoid rugged terrain
and head instead to a gentle mountain stream with beautiful scenery.
I re-tie his flies, untangle his lines,
and match my pace entirely to his.
In fishing, the coolest thing is simply to keep at it.
To all the veteran anglers out there:
let’s cast our lines together again sometime.
I strive to be a guide who ensures
both his family's peace of mind and Mr. Kudo's smile.
