キャリア40年のベテランアングラー
今日は素晴らしい1日でした！キャリア40年のベテランアングラー、Lloydさんと釣りに出かけました。彼はTroutやボーンフィッシュを自在に狙うマルチアングラーで、本当に尊敬できます。日中は増水の影響もあって小渓流でイワナに挑戦し、最初は流れに戸惑っていましたが、徐々にコツをつかみ次々とイワナをゲットしていく姿はまさに圧巻。私は思わず見とれてしまいました。
夕方は本流筋でヤマメにも挑戦しました。数多くのアタックがありながらも、今回はキャッチには至らず。「ヤマメたちに『もう少し腕を上げてから来てね!』と言われているようだ」とLloydさん。でも、彼は最後まで笑顔で楽しんでいました。フライフィッシングは、釣れなくてもその過程自体が楽しめるんだと、改めて実感しました。釣りを通して自然と向き合い、深い時間を過ごすことの素晴らしさを教えてもらった気がします。
また、次の釣行が楽しみです。
Today was a wonderful day! I went fishing with Lloyd, a veteran angler with 40 years of experience. He is a multi-angler who skillfully targets Trout and bonefish, and I truly respect him. During the day, we challenged ourselves with char fishing in a small mountain stream affected by increased water levels. At first, Lloyd was confused by the current, but as he gradually got the hang of it, he kept landing char one after another. It was truly an impressive sight. I couldn't help but watch in admiration.
In the evening, we tried for yamame trout in the main stream. Although there were many strikes, we couldn't catch any this time. "It's like the yamame are telling me, 'Come back after you improve your skills a bit more!'" said Lloyd. But he continued to enjoy himself with a smile until the very end. Once again, I realized that in fly fishing, the process itself is enjoyable, even if you don't catch anything. I feel like I was taught the greatness of facing nature and spending deep, meaningful time through fishing.
I'm already looking forward to the next fishing trip.
