山岳渓流での新しい冒険
シアトルからのお客様、ニコラスさんご夫妻と久々の渓流ルアーフィッシングに出かけました。猛暑を避けて、より涼しい高山の渓流を選んでチャレンジです。
釣りの始めは、ドキドキするようなチェイスが続きましたが、なかなかヒットには至りませんでした。そこで少し移動して、落差のある場所でテンカラ釣法を取り入れることに。
その結果、ドライフライへの反応が急に良くなり、立派な尺イワナをキャッチ！真夏の渓流は手強い相手ですが、時には想像を超える釣りができることも。
自然が生み出す予測不可能な展開が何よりの醍醐味。ニコラスさんご夫妻と過ごしたこの日も、そんな特別な時間の一つとして心に刻まれました。
A New Adventure in Mountain Streams
We went out for mountain stream lure fishing for the first time in a while with guests from Seattle, Nicholas and his wife. To escape the intense heat, we chose a cooler high-altitude stream for the challenge.
At the start of fishing, there were some heart-pounding chases but no actual hits. So, we moved a bit and decided to try tenkara fishing at a spot with a waterfall.
As a result, the response to the dry fly suddenly improved, and we caught a magnificent "shaku" (30 cm class) iwana! Although mountain streams in midsummer can be tough opponents, sometimes you can have fishing experiences beyond your imagination.
The unpredictable developments that nature produces are the real thrill. The day spent with Nicholas and his wife became one of those special times that will remain etched in my heart.
